Svartklubben

Svartklubben is an islet and lighthouse located east of Singö in Roslagen’s northern archipelago.
The lighthouse building, which was completed in 1820, consists of a thick, 12 meter high, round stone tower with black and white day markings. The tower was built to be fired with a coal, hence its thickness. The lighthouse originally had a large glass lantern and was Sweden’s first covered coal-fired lighthouse. In the 1840s, rapeseed oil lamps and brass mirrors were installed to amplify the light.
